A design challenge in 120 hours for an whale observation center in the canary islands.
The deck is integrated into the rock formations to avoid changes in the landscape. A long small dark corridors connect it with the outside world and creates a dramaturgy full of contrasts for the entrance.
Ledges and balustrades made of smaller stones let the ocean air in and enhance the five senses’ experience of the space.
The plans are drawn by hand in watercolor and ink on butten-papers. They are awarded a recognition prize of the Helmut-Rohde-Prize for architecture drawings.
