New Year’s postcards sent annually to wish relatives and friends a good year, printed in Japanese woodblock printing technique.

In the lunar calendar system of the Asian pacific culture, also popular under the name of the Chinese calendar or Bazi, the years are named after an element and an animal of the zodiac. They’re common motives for the attributes of the annual celebrations, from red pockets envelopes to lanterns and post cards.

Further explanation of the motives may be found in the Instagram posts of each card:

2020 – year of the mouse

2021 – year of the ox

2022 – year of the tiger

2023 – year of the rabbit

2024 – year of the dragon
